Paul Stokes, Managing Director and Founder of the Artius Group of companies. Non Executive Director of Autism Queensland.

Paul is an Associate Professor, qualified Physiotherapist and Exercise Physiologist with extensive leadership experience in the Australian Health and Employment industries spanning more than 20 years. Paul is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Paul’s health industry experience has included senior roles as a Clinician and an Executive Director in public hospitals, private practice and health facilities.  Paul has completed post-graduate management training, held positions as Director of Physiotherapy for two large public hospitals, and health service planning roles with both Queensland Health and private health insurer MBF.

Paul’s employment services executive experience has involved the national management of health divisions of large national and international Employment Service Providers, leading multidisciplinary teams nationally, delivering integrated health and employment services to long-term unemployed clients.

In founding Artius Health Care in 2004, Paul has successfully expanded programs and services to include other human service programs aimed at helping people reach their potential. Employment and Training Services were added in 2007 and Community Services was added in 2013 to create the Artius Group.

Libby Stokes is the Executive Director of Artius Group of companies. She manages the Corporate Services Division and is a member of the Artius Advisory Board.

Libby has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Health Administration. She has had executive management experience of more than 20years in Health and over 10years in Employment Services.

Libby initiated service excellence in Artius Group Operations through its rapid growth start-up years to achieve an outstanding culture of efficient, friendly and supportive staff.

Libby is passionate about motivating and inspiring engagement with our team, community and business partners, helping people, businesses and communities to reach their potential.

Peter Emery, Non Executive Member of the Advisory Board
Peter is a lawyer by training spending the first ten years of his career as a practicing lawyer both in private legal practice and as Corporate Counsel for an international bank before moving into front line management in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Since 1998 Peter has carried on his own consulting and contracting business including academic teaching and various board, committee and other roles. Peter’s former directorships include NatWest Markets Australia Limited and group companies, RiverCity Motorway Management Limited and Health and Medical Gold Coast Inc. CEO roles have included listed medical devices company Medigard Limited and RSL Care Limited.  

Peter is a current Chairman and director of three not-for-profit organisations and two private companies, consultant to Hynes Legal in Brisbane and Chairman of three Managed Investment Compliance Committees. He is also a facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors Company Directors Course, Not for Profit and other courses.

Peter has degrees in Arts and Law and postgraduate qualifications in Management.  Amongst other awards, he holds the Australian Institute of Company Directors Advanced Diploma. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, Fellow of Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the Law Society of Queensland. In addition, he is an accredited mediator and trainer.

Mike Meintjes, Non Executive Member of the Advisory Board
Mike has over 29 years experience in the areas of finance and accounting, risk management and governance.

He is a Chartered Accountant having qualified with Ernst & Young, where he then went on to be admitted to the partnership for a period of 14 years. During this time he gained a wide array of experience including appointment as registered company auditor, leader of the forensic investigation team, due diligence assignments and process/control improvement engagements.

Since leaving public practise at the end of 2011, Mike has taken on a number of roles as a business consultant or advisor. He is currently appointed as Company Secretary and part-time financial advisor to two ASX listed companies, financial advisor to the Finance Team at Metro North HHS and is a Non-Executive member of the Audit Committee of the Crime & Corruption Commission.
