New Appointment Enhances Support for Mental Health
Thu Oct 13 2011Allied Health Services Group the fourth Psychologist to join the staff at the Ipswich UQ office, adding to the growing team of specialist health professionals.
Alisha’s passion for the industry and knowledge of how to provide a supportive and caring service comes from more than 6 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds including those suffering from serious mental illness through to people wanting to manage the stress of everyday life.
Statistics have shown show that 45% of adult Australians experience a mental illness at some stage in their lives and that depression is one of the most common health conditions in young people, increasing during adolescence.**
As a skilled Psychologist, Alisha is dedicated to helping everyone who needs assistance. Recently returning from working abroad, Alisha is happy to be home and looking forward to getting to work within the community and the supportive framework that Artius Health has established.

Prior to joining Artius Health, Alisha spent four years as a Lifeline Telephone Counselor and Trainer. She also worked as a community recovery team leader for three years, providing support to people who had experienced disaster. Alisha’s academic portfolio is impressive to say the least with postgraduate degrees at the University of Southern Queensland, where she received numerous awards including a Dean’s Commendation Award and The Australian Psychological Society’s Mental Health Postgraduate Scholarship. She was also the only student out of 60 to complete her masters degree in the set 2 year timeframe.
