New doors open to employment
For people on the Gold Coast with an injury, illness or condition that makes starting or returning to work difficult, the news is good - in March 2010, Artius Employment has opened four new offices at Southport, Palm Beach, Nerang and Biggera Waters in addition to its existing premises in Oxenford, Ipswich and Goodna.
The expansion is the result of Artius' success in the recent round of contracts awarded by the federal government for the delivery of Disability Management Services, formerly known as Vocational Rehabilitation Services. This time, the government has 'uncapped' the program, giving more people access to employment assistance.
In addition, the Artius business model - which integrates Artius Employment and Artius Health - enables its clients to access a range of health services, including physiotherapy and psychology, in-house. As Artius Group Managing Director Paul Stokes explains, "We try and open as many doors to work as we can and make the process as easy as possible. For example, we often see people with physical conditions that prevent them from returning to or finding work. People facing these kinds of challenges sometimes develop secondary conditions such as depression or anxiety. Our Employment Consultants are specially trained to recognise the early signs of mental ill-health and can refer clients who are struggling to our on-staff psychologists for help. In many cases, they'll be receiving treatment for their physical condition too. This is all happening under the one roof".
Eligible Gold Coast residents can access Artius' employment - and health services, should they be required - free of charge. For more information call 1300 736 537.
