Artius contracted to deliver Health Programs to Queensland Corrective Services

Artius has been selected as the preferred supplier for the provision of low to moderate intensity substance abuse intervention for Queensland Corrective Services (QCS), in South East Queensland.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with Queensland Corrective Services to deliver this innovative program. More than 300 offenders will participate in the program that aims to help them stop abusing alcohol and drugs and set them up for a better quality of life” , says Artius Managing Director, Paul Stokes.

Mental Health Services Team Leader, Mary McKenzie says “People coming into prison have generally reached the point in which society want them removed. Many suffer from substance abuse issues which led to their imprisonment”.
Artius Health Services have the capability and resources to provide low to moderate drug and alcohol intervention. The program aims to support individuals who have been incarcerated, or who are on parole or probation, with the hope of significantly reducing reoffending.
Mental Health Clinicians, primarily Psychologists will be working collaboratively with QCS to deliver effective group sessions to help reduce substance abuse as well as implementing strategies to prevent relapse. It is Artius’s objective to provide people in prisons with the opportunity to return to a normal life as quickly as possible.
