Peer workers are an extremely important part of the Mental Health Services ecosystem and have a tremendous contribution to make through their lived experience”.
The project involves:
• Consulting with consumers, executive/senior management and mental health professionals to inform the development of a 3-5 year plan for peer workforce development for Central Queensland region.
• Providing information sessions based on recent research to increase the understanding of peer roles across the sector.
• Providing professional supervision, training and the development of formal networks to support peer workers currently employed in Central Queensland as well as emerging roles.
