What an amazing day we all had in Bundaberg, with the official opening of our regions offices in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.  Our Master of Ceremonies was Matthew Payne, the Health Services Regional Manager for Wide Way, Central Queensland and the Sunshine Coast.  Matt opened up the floor by welcoming our guest speakers, the Honourable Keith Pitt, Federal Member for Hinkler and the Assistant Minster to the Deputy Prime Minister, Kath Thompson the General Manger PHN Operations at Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast, and finally our CEO Paul Stokes.  Dale Brown, our Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander coordinator from the Taribelang Bunda, which is the main tribal group for the Bundaberg area, who performed the ‘Welcome to Country’, followed by an amazing rendition of him playing the Yudiki.  The initial speeches addressed the importance of the stepped care model, addressing mental health in the region and the implementation of Artius’ services working alongside our consumers.  The overall gest from the speakers was to acknowledge how effectively and professionally the Bundaberg Office was established in such a short time, and in doing so, how well the staff and services are delivered within the Wide Bay and North Burnett region.   After the speeches, Matt invited everyone to the fantastic spread of finger foods, which were amazingly prepared by Bre Williams, our Child and Youth care-coordinator and Simon Scadden, Jason’s partner.  The overall positive vibe and connectivity within the Artius family was very evident and felt by everyone who attended.
