Helping the Australian World Dwarf Games Team to Reach Their Potential
Artius were proud to support the 2017 Australian World Dwarf Games squad during their recent training weekend on the Gold Coast.
The 7th World Dwarf Games will be held in Ontario, Canada in August 2017. Supported by the International Dwarf Athletic Federation, the event which occurs every four years, is the largest sporting event exclusively for athletes with dwarfism.
Ms Kobie Donovan, a member of the squad said: “The games are rare and unique opportunity for short statured athletes to come together and compete on a level playing field at an elite level; the Gold Coast camp provided an opportunity for athletes from different cities across Australia to come together and train in preparation for the games”.
The Australian squad met on the Gold Coast on the 20th and 21st February for a training camp at the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre. Artius, who specialise in helping people to reach their potential, was proud to donate the use of one of their buses to transport the athletes from the airport to the training venues during the camp.’
“It was great to see so many athletes on the Gold Coast giving it their all in their chosen sports! We’d like to express our thanks to all of the organisations and individuals who made the weekend a success.” said Ms Donovan.
Paul Stokes, Artius Managing Director said: “It is an honour to support these athletes to achieve their goals. Their commitment is inspiring and embodies our mission of helping people reach their potential.”
The athletes representing Australia in a combination of swimming, athletic and team sports events, will travel to Canada July 2017.
