The Future of Employment Services in the Southern Downs

Following an extremely successful partnership, Stanthorpe Training Centre has terminated their contract with the Department Of Social Services in favour of Artius Pty Ltd who have been operating successfully in the field of Disability for a number of years. Artius is a Queensland based employment and health service provider with offices spanning across Southeast Queensland.

Stanthorpe Training Centre and Artius entered into a sub-contracting arrangement in September 2015 where Artius was to deliver Southern Downs Employment Services on their behalf. The alliance has flourished with many participants placed in paid employment.

The new arrangement will not affect the delivery of services provided in both Stanthorpe and Warwick to job seekers, employers and other agencies who currently work with Southern Downs Employment Services. Current President of STC Inc., Judy-Anne Dvorak said “There will be no change to staff or office locations for both Warwick and Stanthorpe. The community can be assured that they will be met by the same people when seeking services in the future. Southern Downs Employment Services wants the community to know that when they are asked at Centrelink which provider they would prefer, they can confidently choose Artius.”

Artius’ Managing Director Paul Stokes said “I am very excited to be continuing the excellent work of Southern Downs Employment Services in helping people with a disability to find and maintain work. At Artius we value a personalised approach that identifies and builds on people’s strengths. We plan to continue to work with local employers and the community to find the right person for each job and the right job for each person.”
